The Department also provides opportunities for development programmes in a form of internship programmes, which includes Graduate Internship, Pre-service Training, Candidacy Development Support Programme and Learnership Programme.

Is responsible for the arrangement & description of records. They also assist researchers when they request information from archives. 

Is responsible for the preservation & conservation of historical documents.

Provides a means of retaining & organizing digital content for long term use.

Responsible for ensuring that records are kept in good condition. They facilitate trainings, inspections, reviews and oversee to the disposal and transfer of records.  

Conducts oral history projects for the department. Their role is to oversee to the collection and recording of untold stories (oral histories) for the purpose of preserving undocumented history.

Is responsible for marketing of archives services throughout the province. They conduct educational outreach programmes to reach educational institutions, communities, etc.
